<p>Glasgow&rsquo;s Emirates Arena is the venue for the World Athletics Indoor Championships, 2024 and has quickly become Scotland&rsquo;s &lsquo;home&rsquo; of world-class sport since opening in 2012. Purpose-built for major international sporting events, it boasts a 5500-seater main arena alongside the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In addition to staging the 2019 European Athletics Indoor Championships and previous editions of the British Athletics Indoor Grand Prix, the Emirates Arena has played host to many other international sporting events including the 2017 TOTAL BWF Badminton World Championships, Glasgow World Cup Gymnastics, Davis Cup Tennis, UCI Track World Cup, and Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Track Cycling and Badminton.&nbsp;</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; text-align: left;">Welcome or f&aacute;ilte as the Gaelic speakers in Scotland would say, to the digital home of the 19th edition of the World Athletics Indoor Championships taking place in Glasgow in 2024.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; text-align: left;">&nbsp;</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; text-align: left;">Glasgow has a proven track record of hosting major sporting events and 10 years on from the 2014 Commonwealth Games, we are excited to continue the sporting legacy as three days of world class action arrives in the city from 1-3 March 2024.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; text-align: left;">&nbsp;</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; text-align: left;">There will be six sessions of action-packed sport over three days of intense competition in the intimate setting of the Emirates Arena, with many of the best athletes in the world competing for prestigious World Indoor titles. Over 700 competitors from more than 130 countries are expected to take part, competing in 26 events - 13 for men and 13 for women.&nbsp;</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; text-align: left;">As this is the first time the World Athletics Indoor Championships has been hosted in Scotland, a fresh look has been created for the event, incorporating the saltire flag, elements of Glasgow&rsquo;s skyline and the Scots language in order to evoke a sense of place and promote Scotland&rsquo;s unique cultural identity to the world.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; text-align: left;">Using Scots language, the event strapline &lsquo;Where Gallus Meets Greatness&rsquo; signifies Scotland&rsquo;s ambition as the perfect stage for events. The phrase combines &lsquo;Gallus&rsquo; the local vernacular for &lsquo;daring and bold&rsquo; with greatness, a word commonly associated with major sporting champions.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; text-align: left;">With athletes and fans hoping to be part of moments of greatness during the three days of intense and thrilling competition, the strapline loosely translates to &lsquo;Who Dares Wins&rsquo; and we hope to witness many iconic sporting moments when the event begins in March.</p>
