As part of their sustainability efforts at the World Athletics Championships Budapest 23, World Athletics and the local organising committee teamed up to create a dedicated Green Zone in the stadium park which host awareness-raising activities, daily quizzes with prizes and meet & greets with athletes over the course of the championships.
Athletes appeared daily to meet with fans and speak with journalists to discuss some of their concerns, their own sustainabilty initiatives and ways that the sport of athletics and its events can reduce their environmental impact and improve their social impact. Below are a few photos of some of the activities and athlete appearances at the Budapest Green Zone.
